Zora Neale Hurston | Premieres January 17
Zora Neale Hurston is celebrated for her most famous book, “Their Eyes Were Watching God,” but did you know this Alabama-born writer was also an influential anthropologist considered to be the first African-American female filmmaker? Check out the special featuring Hurston on January 17, courtesy of American Masters.
Fight the Power | Premieres January 31
Developed by Chuck D and his producing partner, Lorrie Boula, this series tells the story of hip hop as an organic expression of experience that was unapologetic, fierce and empowering as it spoke truth to power and informed a nation through a different lens. From The Message to Fight The Power 2020, Chuck D examines how Hip Hop has become "the Black CNN." Fight the Power premieres January 31 on PBS.
Marie Antionette | Premieres Spring 2023
Premiering on PBS in March 2023, the eight-episode series follows the teenaged Maria Antonia as she travels to Versailles to marry Louis-Auguste, soon to be Louis XVI, king of France.
Emilia Schüle plays the last French Queen before the French Revolution as she navigates the byzantine etiquette and intrigue of Versailles. Her husband, Louis XVI, is played by Louis Cunningham, who has appeared in Bridgerton. Tony nominee Marthe Keller plays Marie Antoinette's mother, the Empress Maria Theresa of Austria, who's determined to secure an alliance via Austria and France via her daughter's marriage.
Sanditon, Season 3 | Premieres March 19

A picaresque story of the title character’s complicated journey to find real love, Tom Jones has delighted and scandalized readers since it was originally published in 1749. The History of Tom Jones premieres April 30 on PBS.
