Ridley Season 2 Cast
Season 1 of Ridley saw many of its characters tested in numerous emotional and psychological ways. So, where precisely did they all leave off from the first season?
Read below to find out:
Alex Ridley (played by Adrian Dunbar): Once a top lead investigator, Alex Ridley is a man burdened with a haunted past. In Season 1 of the show, the audience sees Ridley come to terms with his grief after losing his wife and daughter in a horrific incident. However, after DI Carol Farman offers him a chance to come aboard the team as a police consultant, Ridley is able to find moments of respite and purpose once again. Ridley’s extensive background working on investigations, as well as his sometimes unorthodox approach, proves himself an asset – not to mention his keen talent for singing a jazz tune.
DI Carol Farman (played by Bronagh Waugh): Once Ridley’s protege, DI Carol Farman is an officer who is fully dedicated to her job. Guided by her sense of reason and level-headed nature, Carol is an accomplished leader who welcomes the idea of collaboration, further shown by her eagerness to bring Ridley back onto the team. Throughout Season 1, however, Carol is increasingly tested with finding a balance between her home and work life. And with a new child on the way, Carol’s priorities will only continue to be put to the test.
DC Darren Lakhan (played by George Bukhari): Every police force needs a dependable helping hand, and DC Darren Lakhan is always at the ready. Cool, calm, and collected, Darren is the go-to guy for finding new leads on cases and providing support for his team.
DCI Paul Goodwin (played by Terence Maynard): As the head of the police force, DCI Goodwin upholds a standard of professionalism and diligence. While he generally comes across as stern and rigid, deep down, his main interest lies in advancing his team’s success. Nevertheless, Goodwin and Ridley are never short of bumping heads from time to time, and in Season 1, we see this contention play out, often against Ridley’s favor.
Dr. Wendy Newstone (played by Georgie Glen): Leading the forensic team is the ever-methodical and erudite Dr. Newstone. She’s always quick to the scene to provide her expert knowledge and assist Ridley and Carol in their investigations.
Michael Flannery (played by Aiden McArdle): In Season 1, the audience is introduced to Michael Flannery, the man convicted of murdering Ridley’s wife and daughter. Throughout the first series, Ridley visits Michael in prison where the audience learns more and more about their extensive history. In fact, Michael once worked as an undercover informant for Ridley, until his identity was ultimately jeopardized which had lasting implications. However, by the end of the Season 1 finale, it is revealed that Michael was not behind the incident that led to Ridley’s wife and daughter’s murder.
Geri Farman (played by Bhavna Limbachia): With the demands that come from Carol’s job as a DI, Geri, Carol’s wife, assumes the majority of responsibilities in the Farman household. Fortunately, Geri is an understanding partner who cares considerably for her family. However, in Season 1, Geri proposes the idea to Carol that they consider having another baby, an idea that results in some tension between the spouses.
Jack Farman (played by Tareq Al-Jeddal): Jack is the son of Geri and Caro Farmanl. Over the course of Season 1, Jack exhibits love and care toward his two parents, and even takes up an interest in hanging out with Ridley, too. Yet, Jack experiences a near-death experience in Season 1 when he is held at gunpoint by a suspect in one of Ridley and Carol’s cases. Fortunately, he is able to escape physically unharmed, but the incident will no doubt unlock some lingering stress going forward.
Annie Marling (played by Julie Graham): Annie is the owner of the village’s local jazz club, and was also best friends with Ridley’s deceased wife. The three of them go way back, which is why Ridley always turns to Annie when in need of a dose of advice and candor.
