St. Patricks Day celebration alternatives

Published on March 17, 2021 by Madisson Haynes

St. Patrick's Day, often recognized through pots of gold and pints of beer, is a cultural and religious celebration held in honor of St. Patrick — the patron saint of Ireland brought to the Emerald Isle when he was kidnapped and enslaved. The day is celebrated March 17, the day St. Patrick is believed to have died.

It's a day for Irish and Irish Americans to celebrate their heritage. While St. Patrick's Day is often spent in a pub, adorned in green and with a pint or two, this year calls for alternative ways to celebrate.

With many participating in social distancing, here are a few ways to celebrate in the comfort of your own home, including music, a virtual parade and recipes to put you in the spirit.
