The Express Way Social Campaign

Published on December 18, 2024 by PBS

Welcome to The Express Way! In this four-episode series, renowned actor, dancer, and singer Dulé Hill explores the power of the arts, sharing the stories of diverse artists from across America, celebrating community, humanity, and the transformative potential of creative expression.

For the debut season, we published over 30 posts on Instagram and Facebook, giving our viewers a front-row seat to the stories of people from around the country who use art to heal, inspire, and transform their communities. Grab your tap shoes (Dulé never leaves his pair at home), and let’s hit the road!

Tapping Across America

Dulé tap-danced his way across the United States and straight into our hearts. Whether celebrating International Dance Day or embracing the acoustics of a Chicago sidewalk, he demonstrated just how powerful an art form dance can be.

Interview Series

Psych’s Burton “Gus” Guster, Charlie Young on The West Wing, patriarch Bill Williams of The Wonder Years: Dulé Hill has portrayed his fair share of iconic roles — but this one might be our favorite yet. As host of The Express Way, Dulé brings his signature warmth, charm, and dance moves to every interaction with the inspirational artists he meets along the way. Whether you're a longtime fan or just getting to know him, these straight-to-camera interviews delve into the heart of who Dulé is and where The Express Way is headed.

Community and Connection

As part of our broader marketing campaign, we created social media versions of our broadcast promos. These snapshots provided a quick glimpse of the adventures to come while consistently highlighting the series' mission: the transformational power of the arts.

Artist Spotlight

The real stars of the show are the incredible creatives Dulé met along The Express Way. From Shaheem Sanchez, a Black and deaf dancer using his talents to inspire his community, to the creators of Latin-grass — a fusion of Latin and American folk music — these artists not only showcased their talents but offered a closer look into their worlds and communities.
