Nurse Crane (Linda Bassett) reluctantly attends a ventouse training course and is shocked and appalled when questions are asked about her fitness to continue working.

Trixie (Helen George) enjoys caring for a Hindu mother, who unexpectedly delivers twins. The following day, the babies and their mother start exhibiting symptoms of gastroenteritis and it’s not long before an emergency outbreak is declared at the maternity home.

Elsewhere, Reggie (Daniel Laurie) is home for the summer but seems to be out of sorts and Violet (Annabelle Apsion) enforces a visit to Dr. Turner (Stephen McGann).
