It’s October 1968 and preparations for Trixie (Helen George) and Matthew’s (Olly Rix) wedding are underway. Trixie is delighted by the team’s reaction to her elegant wedding invitations and everyone is looking forward to the big day.
Tuesday clinic is busier than usual as Sister Veronica (Rebecca Gethings) leads the organization of Bentley’s Dairy “Bonny Britain” competition. In exchange for dairy products, which can be passed onto families in need, the team arrange a photo session looking for Poplar’s Bonny Baby, Special Siblings and Fabulous Families. It’s a joyous occasion and brings the community together.
Nancy (Megan Cusack) makes a home visit to a family who are living in a cramped caravan on a building site. Their circumstances quickly change when they are made homeless and it is not long before their plight is brought to the attention of Nonnatus house.
Elsewhere, Dr. Turner (Stephen McGann) acknowledges a worrying rise of hepatitis cases in the district and Cyril (Zephryn Taitte) returns home from Jamaica and volunteers at a homeless shelter for men.
